The Smart Academy has been offering German courses for over 15 years.

Since 2018, the Smart Academy has also been offering state-subsidized B2 courses (DeuFöV).

Target group

– People with a B1 level according to CEFR (a placement test has to be done if the certificate is older than 6 months or if no certificate is available)

 – Trainees or employees who would like to improve their German

– People who need the B2 certificate for the recognition of their profession

– Job seekers

For professionals and trainees we can make an application

For singles up to 20,000 Euros gross income per year and for married persons up to a gross income of 40,000 Euros per year, the complete B2 course is free of charge! If you earn more you have the following personal contribution: 2,07 Euro per lesson. For 400 hours of lessons, the own contribution is 828 Euro. For 500 hours of lessons, the own contribution is 1.035 euros. If you pass the B2 exam the first time you will get half of the course fee back.

Jobseekers can obtain a coupon from the relevant employment agency. If you receive ALG I, participation is free of charge! The job centre also offers a coupon under certain conditions. For example, if you are aiming for a profession in which German language skills at B2 level are required. The participation is then free of charge!

Content and procedure

A B2 course has either 400 or 500 teaching hours. It depends on your language skills whether you can take 400 or 500 lessons. The focus is on achieving general German language skills in a professional context. In addition to grammar, you will learn the vocabulary you need for your job.

B2 exam

The aim of the B2 course is the successful completion of a B2 exam. The participation in the certificate examination is free of charge.
